About the director
Phie Ambo (1973) graduated from the National Film School of Denmark, 1999.

In 2001 she co-directed the widely discussed FAMILY with Sami Saif. The film follows Sami’s search for his long lost father in Yemen. The film won several awards, among them a Robert and in the same year it was honoured with the prestigious Joris Ivens-award, IDFA 2001.
In 2005 Phie directed a documentaryfilm GAMBLER about the director Nicolas Winding Refn. The Film has been screened in Danish cinemas and in festivals all over the world. GAMBLER received the Steen Baadsgård Award in 2006.
In working with MECHANICAL LOVE Phie Ambo desired to investigate human’s relation to and fascination of robots. Phies next project will to a certain extent also deal with other human mysteries.
About the producer
Mechanical Love is produced by Tju Bang Film A/S by producer Sigrid Dyrekjær. Sigrid Dyekjær was also the producer behind Phie Ambos documentaryfilm Gambler (2006), which resulted in a close collaboration around Mechanical Love (2007).

Sigrid Dyekjær has produced several famous Danish documentaries, Søren Faulis My Grandfathers Murderer (2004), Jacob Thuensens FREEWAY (2005) and most recently Pernille Grønkjærs highly praised The Monastery (2007). She has also produced several feature films, most recently The gift by Niels Gråbøl which will be released in spring 2008.
